The goal of this project is to design a custom playing card deck that celebrates Filipino heritage through visual storytelling. Through this, I aim to learn more about Filipino culture and traditional fashion while using design as a way to reclaim my own cultural identity.

I grew up playing card games like Pusoy Dos, Tongits, and Pekwa, staples at Filipino family gatherings and parties. Inspired by these memories, I decided to design a playing card deck rooted in Filipino culture. These games were something I loved as a child and a way I connected with other Filipinos, regardless of age. This shift felt right. It gave the project a deeper purpose while still allowing room for playful, visually rich illustrations that could be gifted and shared.
